The Art Institutes announced on Monday, November 26, its Passion For Fashion Competition 2013. The competition invites aspiring fashion designers to enter for a chance to win a scholarship and potentially visit NYC.
“It is our distinct honor to present the eighth annual Passion for Fashion Competition. We believe the competition serves as a vehicle where aspiring fashion professionals can express their zeal for an industry that is both dynamic and rewarding. It is a fun opportunity for high school seniors to showcase their creative ideas for the opportunity to earn a scholarship towards a hands-on fashion education,” said John Puhahl. Pufahl is the Vice President of Academic Affairs for The Art Institutes.
The competition is open to all high school seniors who have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 and above, will graduate in 2014, and are legal residents of the US, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Canada (ex. Quebec). It has two categories, Fashion Design and Fashion Marketing & Merchandising/Retail Management. The deadline for entries is February 14, 2013. Details for potential entrants can be found on The Art Institutes website.
Two grand prize winners will be chosen, each winning a half-tuition scholarship for an Art Institutes school. They will also receive a “VIP trip to New York City, participate in a ‘meet and greet’ at Seventeen magazine’s New York City offices, have lunch with a Seventeen Style Pro, receive a $500 shopping spree at DKNY with the Style Pro, and get a $500 gift card to shop anywhere in the Big Apple,” according to The Art Institutes press release.
