The Bling Ring comes out on June 14th.

Emma Watson’s newest film is set to be released on June 14th. The Bling Ring, for which Watson plays one of the secondary roles, chronicles the lives of six teens who stole millions worth of items from stars like Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Orlando Bloom. The first trailer for the movie has just been released, showing Watson and her co-stars partying, planning break-ins, and stealing from Paris Hilton’s home in Hollywood.

The film is based on a true story and portrays the teens as wanting to take part in the celebrity lifestyle. Fame crazy, they break into the private residences of stars and take what they please—including shoes, clothes, hats, and more.

For Watson, this role is particularly refreshing, as it shows her portraying a character that is so very different from Harry Potter’s Hermione or The Perks of Being a Wallflower’s Sam. In The Bling Ring, Watson is a teen living the party lifestyle—smoking, stealing, and breaking and entering.

Newcomer Katie Cheng plays Rebecca, the group’s ringleader. Watson plays “Nicki,” while Israel Broussard portrays “Marc,” Claire Julien is “Chloe,” and Taissa Farmiga plays “Sam.” Paris Hilton and Kirsten Dunst, also make cameo appearances in the film.

In real life, The Bling Ring robbed several celebrities’ as well as non-celebrities’ homes and stole about $3 million worth of cash and items. Paris Hilton’s home was robbed several times, accounting for most of the items stolen. Participants in the group included Rachel Lee (“Rebecca” in the film), Nick Prugo (“Marc”), Alexis Neiers (“Nicki”), Diana Tamayo, Courtney Ames, Johnny Ajar, and Roy Lopez, Jr. Those convicted received jail sentences of six months up to four years.
